Jen Juniper is a singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, visual artist, and co-founder of Dutch Holly, the electronic indie pop duo she formed with Tres Ikner in 2010. Her songwriting, vocals, visual imagination, and performance style sit at the center of Dutch Holly’s identity, moving between melodic indie pop, dream-pop atmosphere, electronic textures, art-rock edges, and an often spiritual or mythic lyrical perspective.
Within Dutch Holly, Juniper performs vocals, percussion, and multiple instruments; conceptualizes and directs video work; and co-produces the duo’s recordings with Tres Ikner. Songs such as “Spirit Eyes” show the connection between her songwriting and Dutch Holly’s current electronic production language: material that may begin on acoustic instruments can expand into synth-driven, rhythm-forward arrangements without losing the original melodic core.
Juniper is also a visual artist. Her work draws on found objects, collage, painting, esoteric imagery, natural forms, and recurring figures that cross between Dutch Holly’s music, artwork, videos, and wider visual world. Together with Ikner, she also co-produces Synthesis Microfest and participates in the duo’s broader Arizona independent-arts and electronic-music activity.
As a member of Dutch Holly, Jen Juniper has performed throughout Arizona and at events including Pure Imagination Festival and the Musical Instrument Museum’s Celebrate Electronic Music program.
Jen Juniper’s visual artwork is also arresting, juxtaposing elements from the earthly realm against an occult universe where shadow figures lurk around the periphery, esoteric technologies insinuate themselves above the horizon, and occasionally, The Ladies make an appearance.
